AS THE UNITED STATES emerged from the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) quickly announced an increase in audits of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS). The stated reason behind the DMEPOS audits (and all CMS audits) is to assure that CMS is not paying for items that patients do not need, costing the government money in wasteful spending. On the surface this sounds great...

50th Academy Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium
On March 6-9th, the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) 2024 held a four-day experience, bringing the O&P profession together from all parts of the world to learn from subject matter experts and one another.
PFA attended the event represented by Teresa Alpert, PFA President and Robert S Schwartz, PFA Executive Director...many PFA Committee and PFA members were speakers at the event including, Seamus Kennedy, Josh White and Erick Janisse!
