Important COVID-19 Information for PFA Members
Share |

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to take a minute to assure our members that the PFA office is still up and running! The headquarters staff is working hard to make sure you have the information you need to make the best decisions possible regarding your practice.

A few of the tools we are working on to better assist you during this time of hardship include the following:
  1. A dedicated page on our site that will provide up to date information regarding the COVID-19 virus, to include links that will provide information on government assistance for both business owners and employees who are laid off temporarily. This information is slowly being released, and as soon as we receive and confirm the validity of the information our team will post ASAP.
  2. Our government affairs team is working to compile information on rules and regulations regarding the continuation of pedorthist being able to practice and what tools are available to sty compliant with current regulations and resolutions currently in place. One of these tools is the use of telemedicine so that practitioners can continue to assist their patients.
  3. The Council on Pedorthic Education (COPE) is working to get our webinar service back online while also providing a more robust content on our learning management system so our members can continue to earn continuing education credit without having to travel or sit in a classroom.
  4. Our IT team is standing by and ready to post new information as it is provided to our office and we will continue to monitor to make sure PFA is providing all the information we can that will help our members anyway possible to get through these trying times.
  5. We have several redundancies in place to make sure we can continue to function throughout this pandemic. In the event our office needs to close, we will still have phones manned and staff returning emails as they come in. We will be here for you until we get through this!!!
Everyone at the PFA office is here for you! Our phones continue to be manned by a LIVE PERSON ready to answer your questions and help any way we can. If we don’t have the answer, we will do our best to find it! Please be patient with us, as I stated, much of the information coming in is slow moving and we are trying our best to make sure it is accurate before posting on the PFA site.

Last but certainly not least, please be safe and make sure you follow all the federal, state, and local mandates and guidelines. While I understand the importance of keeping your business open, making money, staying employed, and trying to make a living, your health is by far more important!

Stay safe, make good decisions, use common sense, and in the end we will all make it through this!

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell.
