Pedorthic community,

Robert (Bob) S. Schwartz, C. Ped., is the president and CEO of Eneslow Pedorthic Enterprises, Inc. This includes Eneslow Shoes and Orthotics, a New York City specialty shoe store and pedorthic facility founded in 1909, and Eneslow Pedorthic Institute (EPI) an education and training center for healthcare professionals.
   Bob is a frequent lecturer to healthcare professionals, footwear retailers and the public, and a recognized leader in the footwear and footcare industries. He holds a B.S., Accounting, Syracuse University (graduated in 1962), and is a Certified Pedorthist (C. Ped), American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics in 1974. Bob is a PFA Past President (1985-1987).
   Bob has been instrumental in reminding all professions that deal with the treatment and care of feet, “Don’t forget the importance of footwear in your treatment plan!” “We walk around on concrete surfaces in boxes and there are better designs for those boxes that can compensate for a pathologic foot. Footwear forensics is like a fast x-ray for foot pathology.”
   To honor his devotion to pedorthics, in 1987 Bob received PFA’s highest honor, the Seymour Lefton Award. Bob continues his service to the PFA today as its Executive Director.
   At the 50th Awards Ceremony, Immediate Past President, Giuseppe Lombardo presented Bob Schwartz with the “PFA Leadership Mentor Award”. This award is to acknowledge his commitment to the PFA, his vision for the industry and to thank him for all his help holding PFA together during his term as President. As Giuseppe said, “I couldn’t have done it without you Bob. We had some very long phone calls and early mornings coming up with a strategic plan; a renaissance of the PFA.” Thankfully, with all your help, PFA will continue into a bright future.
