PEDORTHISTS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE TO CONVENE TO DISCUSS
BREAKTHROUGHS IN FOOTCARE AND ORTHOTICS
…Over 1,000 attendees expected at 2010 North American Pedorthic Congress…
The Pedorthic Footwear Association (PFA) and the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) are joining forces to host the 2010 North American Pedorthic Congress in Orlando, Florida. More than 1,000 pedorthists, allied healthcare providers and suppliers are expected to attend The Congress, which will be held November 18 – 21, 2010 at the Hilton in the Walt Disney
World Resort.
“As experts in footcare, footwear and orthotics, pedorthics is one of the fastest growing professions in the healthcare field,” said Brian Lagana, Executive Director for PFA. “To help fuel and educate this rapidly growing profession, The Congress will provide first formalized collaboration and information-sharing between pedorthists across North America and around the globe.”
The Congress, comprising dozens of general and breakout sessions, 200 exhibit booths and numerous networking opportunities, will bring together pedorthic professionals from around the world to discuss issues and breakthroughs impacting the global pedorthic community. For many of the attending professionals, the North American Pedorthic Congress will serve as the sole forum to discuss common interests as well as the challenges and needs facing their local pedorthic community as many countries are without formal member associations.
“Pedorthists from around the world look to PFA and PAC on a regular basis for education, guidance and resources,” said Jonathan N. Strauss, Executive Director of PAC. “Our associations’ leaders have had the foresight to realize this, and take it one step further by supporting an extraordinary event that will provide the educational and exhibiting forum for the global pedorthic community and its allied supporters.”
Marketing for the 2010 North American Pedorthic Congress has already begun, and includes an event-specific website, mailings, advertisements, etc. Parties interested in participating as speakers, exhibitors, sponsors or attendees can contact either organization.
